Company history

Geca Tapes started production and conversion of water blocking tapes, yarns & binders and other specialty cable tapes in 1986. Since the beginning, the company has maintained a clear focus on serving the needs of power, data, and tele- communications cable makers. In 1998 Geca Tapes became part of Polymer Group, Inc. (PGI) of North Charleston, South Carolina USA.

PGI is a large, well known global company involved with the development, manufacture and marketing of specialty engineered materials and products. As one of the leading producers of non-woven materials in the world, with 14 manufacturing facilities in 9 countries on four continents, PGI provides many resources to support Geca Tapes product development, manufacturing and customer support activities.
