Geca Tapes started production and conversion of water blocking tapes, yarns & binders and other specialty cable tapes in 1986. Since the beginning, the company has maintained a clear focus on serving the needs of power, data, and tele- communications cable makers. In 1998 Geca Tapes became part of Polymer Group, Inc. (PGI) of North Charleston, South Carolina USA. PGI is a large, well known global company involved with the development, manufacture and marketing of specialty engineered materials and products. As one of the leading producers of non-woven materials in the world, with 23 manufacturing facilities in 11 countries on four continents, PGI provides many resources to support Geca Tapes product development, manufacturing and customer support activities.

Manufacturing Facilities

The factory was specifically designed for production of textiles and nonwoven materials and has state-of-the art research & development, material handling, manufacturing, quality control and logistics systems. To provide the optimum control of product quality, the factory is atmospherically controlled with a well-maintained temperature and humidity.

The main Geca Tapes manufacturing facility is located in Bailleul, France and is a substantial part of the PGI Nordlys non-wovens facility. The factory is located in an industrial zone located between the Northern French city of Lille and the major French port cities of Dunkerque and Calais. From this location, Geca Tapes is able to deliver quickly to its customers via easily accessible European and worldwide transport and logistics systems.
